Our Story
Tiyaka began the way many meaningful things do—through curiosity, care, and a desire to create something useful. We’ve long believed in the power of plants to support balance and everyday comfort, and one day, with leftover trimmings from a homegrown plant, we decided to make a small batch of salve using natural ingredients we already trusted.
We shared that first batch with friends, and the response surprised us. People told us it helped ease sore muscles, quiet tension, and support daily relief. Soon came the questions: “Do you have more?” and “Where can I get this?” As we shared the salve with massage therapists and other holistic practitioners, the feedback remained the same—genuine appreciation and requests for more.
The name Tiyaka is rooted in family and community. Our founder, Jessica, has always been known as “Ka” by the kids in our family. As a Filipina and Mexican woman, she became “Tiya Ka”—Auntie Ka—a name that reflects warmth, care, and looking out for others. That spirit is at the heart of everything we create. In Tagalog, a word closely related to Tiyaka—tiyak—means certain or sure, a meaning that quietly mirrors how we approach our work: creating a balm you can reach for with confidence, comfort, and trust.
Today, Tiyaka salves are still made the same way they were in the beginning: in small batches, completely by hand, using thoughtfully chosen, all-natural ingredients. We create our products for real people living real lives—especially those new to plant-based wellness and simply looking for a gentle, natural way to feel better.
Handpicked Ingredients for Calm and Comfort

Lavendar Oil – Known for its calming and soothing properties, making it a natural complement in this salve. When applied topically, it’s often used to help relax tense muscles, support skin comfort, and create a sense of ease after physical strain. Its gentle aroma also promotes relaxation and stress relief, helping to quiet the mind while the body unwinds.
Peppermint Oil – Valued for its naturally cooling and invigorating properties, which can help soothe sore, overworked muscles when applied topically. It’s commonly used to create a refreshing sensation that supports relief from tension and discomfort, while also helping improve circulation at the application site. Its crisp, energizing aroma adds a revitalizing element to the salve, balancing physical relief with a sense of mental clarity.

Sweet Orange Oil – Known for its uplifting and comforting qualities, bringing a sense of warmth and balance to the salve. Used topically, it’s often appreciated for supporting skin health and helping ease mild tension, while its bright, citrus aroma can naturally boost mood and reduce feelings of stress. It also helps soften the sharper notes of peppermint, creating a more grounded and enjoyable sensory experience overall.
Infused Coconut Oil – Forms the nourishing base of the salve, delivering botanical compounds through a deeply moisturizing, skin-friendly medium. Applied topically, it can support relief from muscle soreness, tension, and everyday discomfort without producing intoxicating effects. It also helps the infusion absorb smoothly, providing lasting hydration while allowing the plant’s natural properties to work gently over time.

Pure Organic Beeswax – Acts as the structural backbone of the salve, giving it a smooth, solid consistency that melts gently on contact with the skin. It helps lock in moisture, forming a breathable protective barrier that supports skin hydration without clogging pores. Naturally rich in skin-soothing properties, beeswax also enhances the longevity and stability of the salve, ensuring a clean, mess-free application.
